How to activate the Pirate Shop Token step by step
To activate the Pirate Shop Token, open the Fortnite Item Shop after your account receives Pirate Shop Access. This is the reward from Treasure Hunt chests in Battle Royale and Zero Build that gives you access to eligible shop offers for a limited period. The Fortnite shop token guide explains how to recognize the find and what the shop benefit covers. If you have already seen the notification, open the Item Shop on the same account and check that the Pirate Shop Access banner is present.
Open Fortnite on the account that received access
Use the same account you played with when the access notification appeared.
Find Pirate Shop Access in the Item Shop
Check the Item Shop for the access banner and review the window shown before proceeding.
Choose Activate Now
Start when you are ready to use 14 consecutive days and the current annual window is open.
Check the remaining time and shop eligibility
Confirm access is active in the shop. Record your start date and review each offer before claiming it.
Take a moment to read the banner before choosing Activate Now. The activation date and the last day of the active period answer different questions. One tells you when you can start the benefit, and the other tells you how long you have to use it. If you are unsure which period applies, look at the date shown in the shop before you commit.
Separate the season end from the activation deadline
The captured client gives the first activation deadline as Dec 15, 2026, 6 PM GMT-6, equivalent to 2026-12-16T00:00:00Z. The Chapter 7 end event is dated 2026-12-05; that announcement does not establish the season shutdown time. The activation deadline and event date serve different purposes when you have already found the token, so keep their labels and time zones in your notes.
- First activation opens
- Chapter 7 end event · time TBA
- First deadline · captured client date
- Second activation opens · Reported
- Second deadline · time unconfirmed
The exact event time and season shutdown time are unconfirmed. If you are still searching, leave time for more than one match and use the chest location table to pick a route you can run comfortably. If you already have access, read the cutoff on your own shop display before making a time-sensitive decision. A screenshot records one client display; it does not override later account-specific information.
Pick a date you can use
Each activation runs for 14 consecutive days starting when you activate it. Days count while you are away from the game. Before starting, look at your schedule for the next two weeks and see how often you expect to check the Item Shop. If a trip or a busy week would overlap most of that period, you may prefer another start date within the activation window.
Check the kinds of offers you want while you are deciding. Some players are looking for a particular outfit, and others want to browse the eligible offers that are already visible. The Item Shop eligibility guide explains how to distinguish V-Bucks offers from real-money packs, gifts, and the Battle Pass. There is no confirmed schedule here for when any particular offer will appear, so plan around your availability and what you can see in the shop.
Plan the second annual activation
The second activation window is reported to open 2027-01-01 with a deadline of 2027-12-15; its precise cutoff time is unconfirmed. It is a separate opportunity to start a 14-day period. Record the second opening date and deadline separately from your first activation. Keep the year and the reported status next to each date so you can see which window you are planning.
When you return for the second activation, use the same account that received access and check the Item Shop again. Your first activation date can help you remember how you used the first period. The second period has its own start date, so choose it based on when you expect to visit the shop that year. If you set reminders, one for the opening and one well ahead of the deadline covers both decisions.
If you are deciding whether to start on a weekday or a weekend, count the days you will actually have time to sign in. A start date that fits your usual play schedule can be easier to remember. Keep any reminders in your own calendar and use the in-game dates as your final check before you activate.
Once the timer starts
Use the in-game shop display to check the time remaining. Keep a short list of items or categories you would like to look for and revisit it when you next sign in. The shop itself is the place to confirm an offer is eligible. The reward covers eligible V-Bucks offers and has a separate limit for Sidekicks. Real-money packs, gifts to other players, and Battle Pass content are excluded.
If you want a Sidekick, check your ownership and decide which one you prefer before claiming it. The benefit allows one Sidekick you do not already own. If an offer is outside the benefit, leave it off your activation plan so you can use the window for items the shop marks as eligible.
If the activation banner is missing
Confirm which account you used in the match and compare the notification with “YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS.” Community reports say the squad receives access when a teammate finds the token. Ask each teammate to check the shop on their own account. If you have a recording of the notification and the shop still shows no access after restarting Fortnite, keep those details for Epic Games Support.
If you are still opening chests, use the odds calculator to compare routes at the same assumed drop rate. Epic Games has not published an official drop rate. These scenarios model an assumed fixed, independent chance; they do not predict your real in-game drop rate. A match plan is useful while you are looking for access. Once the reward appears on your account, use the shop and the activation dates to plan the next step.
