Fortnite Shop Token Guide: How to Get the Pirate Shop Token

Find out how the Fortnite shop token drops, where to look for Treasure Hunt chests, how squad sharing works, and when to activate your shop access.

What is the Fortnite shop token?

The Fortnite shop token is the name players use for Pirate Shop Access, a chest reward in the Treasure Hunters mini-season. It gives you access to eligible Item Shop offers during two separate claim periods. Finding it in a match and starting a shop period are separate actions. After a find, your next decision is when to activate the benefit from the Item Shop.

If you are tracking a possible drop, look for the in-game banner. A golden burst appears when the chest opens, followed by the gold access banner. There is no verified warning glow or shaking before opening. The message says “YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS.” Write down the wording if you are playing with friends and want to compare what each person saw. Later, check the Item Shop on the same account you used in the match.

How to get the Pirate Shop Token

Treasure Hunt chests in Battle Royale and Zero Build are the targets for a token run. Pick a route you can complete without relying on winning an early fight. If a landing is busy, a smaller cluster you can reach safely may give you more chest openings than a crowded spot high on the table.

  1. Queue for a supported match

Choose Battle Royale or Zero Build. Consider Squads if you have teammates who want to open chests.

  2. Pick a chest-rich landing spot

Check Rubber Resort, Lantern Landing, or Loguetown against the bus route and the players landing with you.

  3. Open Treasure Hunt chests

Count the eligible chests you open. Leave ammo boxes out of your count.

  4. Rotate toward distinct chests

Follow the safe zone toward unopened chests. Refilled-chest eligibility is unconfirmed, so log refills separately.

  5. Look for the access notification

Watch for the distinctive chest behavior and the “YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS” banner.

Before landing, agree which side of the area each person will check. Tell teammates when an area is cleared so they can move on to a fresh cluster.

Best places to farm Treasure Hunt chests

Rubber Resort, Lantern Landing, and Loguetown lead the reported chest counts for Crossbones Isle. Treat the ranking as a shortlist. A high count describes what has been reported at the location, while your match total depends on how much of the area you cover. Choose one backup location before jumping and switch early if another team is taking your planned entrance.

Use the chest locations table and routes to compare starts and plan a fallback. Try the same route across a few matches and log how many eligible chests you actually open.

What are your odds of getting Pirate Shop Access?

Epic Games has not published an official drop rate. These scenarios model an assumed fixed, independent chance; they do not predict your real in-game drop rate. The calculator treats each eligible chest as another chance at a selected rate. A longer run raises your modeled chance of finding at least one token, and a run with a high modeled chance can still end without a drop. Use the tool to compare plans under the same assumption.

When to activate Pirate Shop Access

Reported rules describe one activation in each of two annual windows. The first deadline is 2026-12-15, after the Chapter 7 end event dated 2026-12-05. The second reported window opens 2027-01-01 and has its own deadline of 2027-12-15. Each activation runs for 14 consecutive days once you start it.

  1. First activation opens
  2. Chapter 7 end event · time TBA
  3. First deadline · captured client date
  4. Second activation opens · Reported
  5. Second deadline · time unconfirmed

Captured client: Dec 15, 2026, 6 PM GMT-6 equals Dec 16, 00:00 UTC. Check your own activation screen. The 2027 date range is reported; its exact closing time is unconfirmed.

Choose a start date when you can check the shop over the following days. Give yourself time to sign in and verify access ahead of the deadline. The activation walkthrough explains what to look for in the Item Shop and how to plan the second annual window. If your schedule is tight, set a reminder for a day you already know you will be around.

What you can claim in the Item Shop

Eligible V-Bucks cosmetics and V-Bucks bundles are included, along with one Sidekick you do not already own. Real-money offers, gifts for other players, and the Battle Pass, pass levels, and pass rewards are excluded. Read the offer itself before claiming it. Check which currency it uses, who receives the item, and whether you have already used the Sidekick allowance.

What's included

  • Outfits, emotes, pickaxes, gliders, back blings and wraps sold for V-Bucks
  • V-Bucks bundles in the Item Shop
  • One Sidekick you do not already own

What's not included

  • Real-money offers and packs (not priced in V-Bucks)
  • Gifting items to other players
  • Battle Pass, pass levels and pass rewards
  • More than one Sidekick / Sidekicks you already own
  • Transferring access to another account

Read the shop eligibility guide before you activate. A short list of the kinds of items you want makes it easier to decide whether you are ready to start the clock. Keep the date you activated alongside that list so you can plan shop visits during the remaining days.

Start with the question you need answered during your next match or shop visit.

Squad sharing

Community reports say that access is shared when a squad member finds it; Squad Fill eligibility remains unconfirmed. Have each teammate check the Item Shop on their own account. If one teammate gets the banner and another does not, compare the mode and the exact notification before drawing a conclusion.

Supported modes

Choose Battle Royale or Zero Build for a chest run based on current reports. Ranked availability is disputed; Reload and Creative or UEFN eligibility is unconfirmed. Keep those matches separate from your planning count and compare chest-opening routes within the modes where access drops have been reported.

If access does not appear

Check whether you saw the actual access banner, then open the Item Shop again on the account you played with. If the banner appeared and access is still missing after you reopen the game, save any genuine recording and the match details for Epic Games Support.

Season end and activation deadline

The Chapter 7 end event and the first activation deadline are separate milestones. The event date helps with broad planning, but its exact time and the season shutdown time are unconfirmed. Check the current game notice before planning a final chest session, and read your own Item Shop deadline before activation.

Keep your Fortnite account safe

Pirate Shop Access is earned from eligible chests in the game. If a message asks for your password or a verification code in exchange for shop access, close it and open Fortnite yourself to check your account. Use Epic Games Support for account or entitlement problems.
