Epic Games has not published an official drop rate. These scenarios model an assumed fixed, independent chance; they do not predict your real in-game drop rate.

What goes into the estimate

The Pirate Shop Token odds calculator estimates the chance of finding at least one instance of Pirate Shop Access, an access reward for eligible Item Shop offers that comes from Treasure Hunt chests in Battle Royale and Zero Build. If you are unfamiliar with the reward or the chest drop, start with the Fortnite shop token guide. The estimate on this page applies to the number of eligible openings you enter and to your chosen drop rate.

Start with a realistic chest count. If you opened eighteen chests on a quiet route and six on the same route when another squad landed there, entering eighteen for every match will make that plan look better than your experience suggests. Enter a typical total and try a second scenario for a rough match. Match count is the number of games in your plan, including games that end before you complete your route.

  1. Enter your usual chest count

Use the number of eligible chests you personally open in an ordinary match.

  2. Set matches and squad size

Choose how many matches to model and how many players you expect to open chests.

  3. Compare drop rate assumptions

Start with a preset, then compare the other scenarios or enter a custom 1 in N rate.

  4. Save a scenario for later

Copy the share link after selecting the valid inputs you want to keep.

How the probability works

The calculation multiplies chests per player per match by matches and squad size to get effective chest openings. At a selected rate of one in N, the probability for one chest is p = 1/N. The chance of missing that chest is 1 − p. Under the assumption that all openings are independent and use the same rate, the probability of missing every chest is (1 − p) raised to the number of openings.

Subtract the all-miss probability from one to get the chance of at least one find. Adding the chance of each chest directly would count runs with multiple finds more than once. The distinction matters even when the per-chest rate is small, because a very long session can include enough openings that a simple sum exceeds one. The calculator uses the all-miss formula throughout.

Where the three rate assumptions come from

Epic Games has not published an official drop rate. These scenarios model an assumed fixed, independent chance; they do not predict your real in-game drop rate. The one in 2,000 preset comes from Blortzen's conditional estimate for an account that owns neither Supreme reward. It has no auditable raw sample. The one in 50,000 preset is an illustrative assumption without an identified source. The one in 700,000 figure circulates without a reproducible method. These scenarios neither establish a measured range nor show that the real rate lies within it.

Keep your chest and match inputs steady when you switch presets. If the displayed chance moves widely, that gap is the effect of the assumed drop rate on your result. The calculator cannot use the result to determine which scenario is closest to the game. Reports of a find tell you the reward appeared for that player. An anecdote rarely tells you how many eligible openings across all players happened before the find.

Compare solo and squad runs

Community reports say the squad receives access when one member finds the token. The calculator treats every teammate as opening the same number of eligible chests you enter for yourself. In practice, a team that lands together and overlaps the same buildings may have fewer distinct openings than a team that agrees on separate paths. If your group averages fewer openings per player than you do on your own, lower the per-player input when you switch to the squad scenario.

Use the reported chest locations to plan distinct routes before the drop. Compare a solo run you can repeat with a squad run your group can actually carry out. Count openings rather than the number of chests marked at your landing spot. If you only have time for a few matches, the actual average may depend heavily on where the bus goes and whether other teams contest your route.

Keep refilled chests in a separate log. Their eligibility for another access roll is unconfirmed, so do not add them to the calculator as established attempts. The model also assumes independent, fixed-rate openings; that assumption has not been verified as the game's actual implementation.

Read the 50% and 90% targets

The chest target is the smallest whole number of openings that reaches the chosen probability under the selected model. The calculator divides that target by your estimated squad openings per match and rounds up for the match figure. The chest total comes first because changing the number of players changes your estimated pace, while the rate still determines the number of openings required.

A 50% target describes a modeled coin flip at the selected count. A 90% target still leaves a 10% chance of finishing without a token. Both figures help you decide how much time you want to spend on chest runs. Neither is a timetable for when the game will award the reward. If the number of matches is beyond what you intend to play, you can still compare shorter routes for the time you have.

When you share your result, include the selected assumption along with the percentage. For example, tell your squad which preset you used and whether the chest input came from an actual match or a planned route. A screenshot of the percentage loses that context. The share link keeps the inputs together so another player can rerun the same calculation and compare an alternative.

What to do after a token drops

The first activation deadline is 2026-12-15. Each activation gives you 14 consecutive days of access to eligible offers. Check the activation steps after you see the in-game access notification so you can choose when to start the clock. If you are hunting for a particular offer, check the shop eligibility guide first. Real-money offers, gifts and Battle Pass items fall outside the benefit, and Sidekick eligibility has its own ownership rule.
